Simulation, scale up and experimental validation of a large-scale electrolyzer for synthesizing (S)-Amido-TH-Naphthyridin

Background
Electrochemical synthesis has emerged as a promising approach for producing high-value organic compounds in an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly manner. This project is part of the ETOS Cluster and focuses on the simulation, scale-up, and validation of a large-scale electrolyzer tailored for the synthesis of organic compound Finerenone. The model reaction used to describe and model the cell is methoxylation of N-Formylpyrrolidin and we use operation parameter of a lab scale electrolyzer. In this model we take different aspects of an electrosynthesis into consideration such as, reaction at electrodes surface, Mass transport in solution and ohmic losses. We are aiming to achieve a model, which demonstrate similar behaviors as the experimental results.
